What is Gazelle?

Gazelle is a fast, safe and convenient way to sell your mobile phone.


What devices can I bring to a Gazelle kiosk?

We currently only accept mobile phones. If you would like an estimate of your device’s value, please visit  Gazelle’s Price Your Phone page https://uk.gazelle.com/devices/.


How does Gazelle determine pricing?

Gazelle prices each phone based on:

  • Model
  • Specific Condition
  • Memory Capacity
  • Value in the secondhand  markets

The specific condition of each individual phone is carefully determined by the Gazelle machine vision system, electrical diagnostics, and artificial intelligence system in order to determine the price in secondary markets. For example, a phone with water damage or a broken LCD will be worth less than a fully functional phone, and an older phone will be priced lower than a newer phone. The more popular a device, the more likely it will fetch a higher price.

 

Does Gazelle accept accessories, like chargers?

At this time, Gazelle does not accept any accessories.


Can I get my device back after I've sold it to Gazelle?

Once you accept the offered price and physically click to “make it official,” you will not be able to get your device back. All sales to the Gazelle kiosk are final.  Please note that you are responsible for ensuring that all device data (including SIM cards and memory cards), accessories, and cases have been removed from the device. Gazelle is not responsible for returning any items you place in the kiosk.


How old do you have to be to sell a device to Gazelle?

You must be 18 years old to sell a device to Gazelle, which is one of the reasons we require a valid ID as part of the transaction process.


Does my device need to be working to sell it to a Gazelle kiosk?

No, we take all devices of all shapes, colors, sizes and working conditions at Gazelle. If the device has a cracked screen, water damage, is perfect, or no longer powers on, we will still give you a price quote.

If we’re unable to offer funds for your device, Gazelle would be happy to recycle it for you.


Can I get my phone back if I don’t like the price?

During the process of selling your phone to our kiosk, you can get your phone back at any time during evaluation. You will know what your device is worth, and if you do not like the value presented, you can reject the offer.  However, if you accept the offer you will not be able to get your device back, after clicking “Let’s make it official”. 


How do I get paid?

Gazelle is all about fast rewards. You get paid for the devices you no longer use by choosing your payment method on the spot. These payment types may include vouchers, PayPal, direct deposit or other forms of payment.


Does my device have to be charged before I visit Gazelle? If so, should I bring my own cord to charge it?

If your device will charge, we recommend charging it before coming to the Gazelle kiosk. This ensures the fastest transaction time and best price at the kiosk. We do accept phones that are not fully charged, however. 


What happens to my device once I’ve ended my transaction and I sold it tothe Gazelle kiosk?

Most of the devices we receive are reused, while the remaining devices are responsibly recycled. Almost all consumer electronics contain toxic materials such as lead, cadmium, mercury, arsenic and a broad variety of other materials that pose a threat to the environment and our health. The best thing we can do for the environment is to extend the usage of existing devices as long as possible so that there’s no need to build new devices to take their place. After a device is no longer usable, the next best thing we can do is responsibly reclaim materials.


How do you work with law enforcement?

We have worked very hard to make sure that Gazelle is one of the worst places for a thief to bring a stolen phone. Our kiosks have a variety of security features installed, including:

  • Required Photo Scan
  • Required ID Scan and Validator 
  • Live Verification (verified by live agents back at our headquarters)

What forms of identification cards are accepted by Gazelle?

Identification is required to validate the identity of the person selling a device to Gazelle. We accept all UK or EU driver’s licenses. You must only use your­ driver’s license at the kiosk and be at least 18 years of age.


How long does it take to sell a device to a Gazelle kiosk?

It takes less than 10 minutes to sell a device at one of our kiosks. Find a location near you!
